Data Scientist (f/m) – location Berlin

About the role

As a Quant/Data Scientist at Billie you will work on extending and improving our capabilities that lie at the heart of our business: our quantitative risk engines, prediction models, and fraud detection algorithms. The high impact-projects you will be working on will also touch upon many other parts of the company. You will support product managers with in-depth quantitative analyses of customer behaviour, help set up experiments and improve our A/B-testing capabilities, thus enabling important product decisions to be data-driven. Furthermore, you will get the chance to support marketing and sales with analyses, visualizations, statistical models and tools to empower them to make the best decisions about who and when to contact for maximum impact. To spur innovation in all these areas you will tap into new data sources, assess them for and integrate them into our predictive models. Alongside these tasks you will develop and improve internal data science tools and libraries and constantly improve the performance and quality of internal, data-driven processes. You will join our experienced and high-profile team, work closely with our Chief Risk Officer, the data science team as well as the founders. You will be able to work autonomously and have full ownership of your area of responsibility whilst also working closely with key members of our experienced leadership team.

Who we are looking for

  • You hold a University degree within a relevant area (maths, physics, engineering, economics or equivalent with a quantitative focus)
  • You have 2+ years experience in quantitative risk modeling, statistical modelling or machine learning
  • You have strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills to master complex, data-driven challenges
  • You are a self-starter with a strong drive to succeed and are excited to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • You are keen to learn and ready to take on interesting challenges
  • You are fluent in R or Python (ideally you know your way around the tidyverse)
  • You practice reproducible research principles (preferrably using R Notebooks or Jupyter Notebooks)
  • You are well experienced in SQL
  • You know how to wrap models in RESTful APIs to make them available and know about Microservices
  • You can build quantitative tools in R Shiny (or are willing to learn it)
  • You know how to build intuitive and effective data visualizations (ideally with ggplot2 and Tableau)
  • You have the ability and interest to learn new technologies and methods

What are nice-to-haves

  • You have experience in credit risk modelling for consumer or small business lending
  • You cover code by tests
  • You use version control (preferrably git)
  • You know how to build frontends beyond R Shiny and have worked with CSS, Javascript, D3 before
  • You have worked with Docker before
  • You know bayesian statistics
  • You have experience with natural language processing

Salesforce Developer (f/m) – location Berlin

Basics

Responsibilities

  • Transform business requirements into effective Salesforce based solutions
  • Choose right tools for making our Salesforce platform reliable and solid
  • Develop integration of Salesforce with other components using REST/SOAP API, Message Queue, etc.
  • Build new sites on Force.com platform (e.g. partner portal)
  • Close collaboration with Payments, BI, Risk, Marketing and Sales teams in order to develop the best fin-tech product
  • Close collaboration with Product and QA in order to understand and match use cases and acceptance criteria

What we expect

  • Industrial experience of building CI/CD pipelines
  • Deep understanding of Apex and Visualforce
  • Familiarity with Governor Limits
  • Computer science background - you know what Ω(n log(n)) means
  • At least one professional Salesforce certification
  • Experience with developing Lightning Components is a plus
  • Ability and interest to learn new technologies (e.g. Salesforce DX)

Business Intelligence Analyst (f/m) – location Berlin

About the role

As a Data Analyst in the Business Intelligence team, you will answer crucial business questions through data analysis and reports. You will be part of a small team of data analysts and will go through the entire report development process (prototype, feedback, implement, maintain) together with a wide variety of stakeholders across the company. You will answer questions such as “which marketing channels should we spend more money on”, “where do our customers drop out of the funnel and why” or “how does our credit portfolio perform”. Through your analysis, you will inform decisions and shape our product right from the start.

Who we are looking for

  • You have an analytical background and hold a degree in quantitative field (we’re happy to talk to you if you’ve got the skills but not the degree)
  • You already have 1-2 years of experience in data analysis and/or reporting
  • You have experience using Tableau, Looker or similar reporting and visualization tools
  • You have good knowledge of SQL
  • You are a diligent worker and very detail-oriented - cross-checks and sanity checks come naturally to you
  • Experience with ETL/Data Warehouse concepts is a plus
  • Experience in online or offline marketing tracking is a plus
  • Experience thinking about and building a retention-based business is a plus
  • Domain knowledge of Finance, Accounting or SME businesses is a plus

As our Talent Sourcer, you will lead the sustainable growth of our young and fast-growing company through active sourcing and recruiting efforts and will have a massive impact on ensuring the success of Billie. You will apply your extensive expertise in the field and your talent market knowledge to source active and passive candidates for high-priority roles, identify effective hiring channels and shape the recruiting process front to end. You will be joining an experienced and high-profile team where you will work closely with our VP People and department heads to identify and meet hiring needs. You will interact with candidates and internal stakeholders with ease and enjoy being our employer brand ambassador. You are a self-starter who ideally has already gained experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
